These photographs were taken with the prototype FieldPix Counter game camera system.  Most of the night time photos have a little flash bleed which has since been corrected.

It's Raining out!

Some people think the flash scares them!

The rain left condensation on the lens.

But, this big boy was back in less than 24 hours!

I never thought we would get a hawk's pic!

A commonly asked question is:  Does the flash or noise scare them away?  Based on my experience, it depends upon the deer and the circumstances in which it is in.  For example, here are a few sample picture sequences of when deer have actually stopped and changed directions.

This next series of photos shows a group of does hanging around the camera for several minutes.  The camera location did not have any kind of bait to keep them around.  In a couple of pictures, the deer are inches away from the camera, yet they stayed around!

8:27 AM - First picture of a group of does, notice the ears at the bottom right.

8:28 AM -  Second picture, the doe was so close, you can barely see its back.  They don't seem scared yet!

8:29 AM - Third picture,  They are still very close, and still don't appear frightened.  The camera does make a slight noise, but it doesn't seem to bother them either.

8:30 AM - Fourth and final picture.  They finally decide to leave the area.  Although, this is definitely not a scientific study, as a hunter, I believe it just doesn't bother them that much.
